The Diatesse XPER blood sugar meter has the ability to also measure ketones. During exercise, our body uses sugars. Sometimes these can also be fats.

Ketones are formed when fats are consumed. These ketones, if in large quantities, can acidify our blood. An elevated ketone level is called a “ketosis”. A strongly elevated ketone level, including acidification, is called a “ketoacidosis”

Why measure ketones?
